I can't see Kampe leaving now, either. Not that he wouldn't do a good job at a bigger school. He just seems to have too much invested here, having built the Oakland program the way he has.
I also think his family is too settled here to want to leave the area now. I guess it's possible, though, that after his youngest son finishes high school (he is a freshman at Rochester Adams), Kampe might want the challenge of building or re-building some other program. But I doubt it.
I would love to see him coach here another 15-20 years.

I think Kampe said in an interview his son was the only freshman on varsity hoops there at Adams. By that time Kampe would be over 60 and surely too settled!

I'm guessing Kampe's youngest is the son of his that we've seen as a ball boy for the past 4-5 years or so. Well, at least I remember seeing him for many years. But even when out there with Huth's kid (who plays for Clarkston, just don't know if Varsity or JV at this point) he was always sooooo small. While I love seeing Kampe around, do you think his son coming to OU could actually have any bearing on whether he stays or not? What are the thoughts about his son coming in and being almost like Bruce Pearl's son? Too early to tell?

Tough to tell how his son will develop. But it is good to see Kampe getting the chance to go to HS games as a "dad" during the lull before the tourney.

On Kampe getting to watch his son's HS games, and his hopes to maybe coach him at OU one day: rochester.patch.com/articles/ous-kampe-on-march-madness-and-being-a-high-school-hoops-dadPuzzing, though, that Kampe would say that he would be "at the end of my career" by the time Press would be old enough to play at OU. That's only 4 years from now, and Kampe is only 55. I would hope he would continue coaching until he's in his late 60's, not late 50s. Maybe the lure of the golf course is stronger than we think?

Loving all of the Kampe coverage, we really don't get much of that throughout the regular season. I was really worried when I saw this quote, which is basically implying Kampe is in his final years. What is the state of OU basketball without coach Kampe? It's a scary thought
