Wow! Great find, Germane. If you don't mind I am going to post this link to my Twitter.
I'm glad Nelson will be able to get to some warmer temperature where he'll also know the language. Good for him.

Absolutely, tweet away. Very happy for Nelson. Agreed that the weather should be nicer, and hopefully so is the paycheck.

Great news!
Reading that article was hilarious. The soccer terms they used: his "trial with Detorit," referring to Kampe as his manager. Great find Germane!

Preview of the season for D-Nel's new team, Horbart Chargers. www.seabl.com.au/index.php?id=17&tx_ttnews[tt_news]=1781&cHash=097fb5eeb2Strengths:
Looking at the Hobart roster, there is a lot to like about the Chargers this year. They appear to have a very stable roster with only a few changes of any note. Their new import Derick Nelson is being talked about as a real showstopper, and aside from the line-up, the Hobart Chargers enjoy possibly the biggest home court advantage of any team in the competition; in 2010 their attendance figures were first in the entire competition.
Weaknesses:
Hobart has taken a risk in releasing a known star in Chuck Long and instead opting for an unknown quantity in Derick Nelson. The Chargers will be praying that Nelson can fit into the line-up straight away. And it seems to get said every year, but Hobart’s reliance on a few older players exposes the massive gaps in age in the roster, and could test the veteran’s fitness in the later stages of the year, or test their depth if some of those older players’ go down with injuries. Great to know that Nelson will be playing on a team that draws the most attendance in the league!

Well just stumbled on another article after patrolling some more. From the sounds of this article, it seems like he will be playing for Horbart for the spring/summer but then another team called Latrobe at another time later in the year? www.theadvocate.com.au/news/local/sport/basketball/oh-lordy-nelson-is-on-his-way/2097502.aspxCheck out how they introduce it: LATROBE will play host to the most high- profile American basketball import seen on the Coast for a decade with former Oakland Golden Grizzly Derick Nelson confirmed for the rest of the season. Then: It is expected Nelson will bring a lot to not only Latrobe, but also the NWBU, with large crowds expected whenever he takes to the court. WOW!
