According to several reports, we've been recruiting 6-6 Doug Anderson pretty hard. He is a great athlete and freakish dunker who went the JUCO route after high school and ended up at Mott CC. He has high major talent but is apparently weak academically (that may be putting it kindly). In any case, it was reported that he committed to Duquesne a couple of weeks ago, but he opened his recruiting back up and now Duquesne has pulled the offer: www.mlive.com/bears/index.ssf/2010/11/duquesne_pulls_mott_star_doug.htmlHe apparently had things narrowed down to Duquesne, Oakland, and Detroit, so it could be between OU and UofD now. I usually think it's better for our program if we focus mainly on HS players who will give us 4 years and have solid academics, but Anderson could be a superstar at our level. Should be interesting to see how this plays out.

While it seems like OU doesn't have any scholarships left for next year after 2 signings by my calculations, here is an article about Doug Anderson ad what he could bring to our team. Next year we will have an unproven front court, with 2 freshman (Petros, Sikora) that redshirt this year and Ilija. We are losing Kito and Will, whom have both been a stable of our front court for the past few years. www.mlive.com/bears/index.ssf/2010/11/mott_basketballs_doug_anderson.html

With this said, we lose Kito, Hudson and Wright. I beleive Lucas-Perry would fill one of these, but correct me if I am wrong. That could me we may see a defection somewhere else on the roster. Is Maynard back yet?

Is Maynard back yet? Kito, Will, and Larry's spots would be filled by LLP, Poches, and D. Williams next season. Team would be at the max of 13, so someone would have to go/transfer. And no Maynard is not back yet.

Highlight video of Mott's season thus far, includes a lot of thunderous Doug Anderson dunks (#23):

I dunno if anyone else seen him or not, but I saw Doug Anderson at the OU game last night against Oral Roberts. Hopefully he liked what he saw.

Heard he was there but didn't get to see him. I did get a chance to speak to Erik Kangas for a little bit. Good to see him again.
