The guys finally play their first home game of the season and a good chance to pick up a couple wins before embarking on yet another grueling road trip. Shouldn't have no trouble with the Thunderbirds as long as we keep playing the way we have the last couple of games and get people involved on offense. It would be good for this team to finish the week 2-0 in the league standings.

Excited for the first home game and hopeful that students aren't too overwhelmed with finals prep so that the Grizz Gang can start the season with a bang. Coming off the Purdue game, I felt incredible about Oakland's chances against Wright State, so after that I'm trying to keep my expectations in check after the performance in Chicago last weekend. However, SUU (at the O'Rena) is a different story, so it's hard to envision any scenario where Oakland does not come away with a win. Interesting to note though that the Golden Grizzlies are 0-2 against SUU in these early December conference games (one home, one away). Hopefully they'll be on the board after this game. For those interested, here is a preview of the game: grizzliesgameplan.blogspot.com/2010/12/game-preview-oakland-vs-southern-utah.html

The new student publication that gameplan mentioned has published their first issue: ouhalfcourtpress.wordpress.com/It is the link in the pdf. Not too bad of stuff. The more coverage, the better!

Thanks for the link. Nice comparison of the SUU player with the guy from 30 Rock. Makes you wonder what's going on with Roger Reid's recruiting. Wasn't it Southern Utah who also had that player a couple of years ago who looked exactly like McLovin?!

I hesitate to mention this, since we need to pack the O'Rena tonight, but for those who can't make it the Oakland-SUU game is listed on channelsurfing: www.channelsurfing.net/

Is anyone else watching via the stream, either on ChannelSurfing or through All-Access? It was pretty solid for the exhibition game but this is an abomination of a stream. Stutters every few seconds, I don't think I've seen a complete play yet in a half even though I'm on the All-Access site (paid for) and on a T1 Internet connection. Wondering if this is happening for anyone else who may not be at the game. Curse living out of the state.
Anyway that was a nice run to the end half with.

I'm having the same issue with the access stream (paid too) I just sent 2 feedbacks that they need to improve the stream. Maybe they need a few people to add their two cents as feedback. Haven't seen one complete play yet without it jumping. The womens game was a great feed. I think it's a bandwidth problem or something like that.

Encouraged by the play of Drew Valentine tonight. Had a good all-around night in a lot of minutes.
The crowd looked pretty good and the student section looked great for an early-season game.
Dare I say Reggie Hamilton is playing like an all-conference guy the past four games or so.

Drew Valentine and Reggie Hamilton, I agree, were the key players for OU in this game. Benson had a nice night with 19 and 11, but we've come to expect that.
Valentine seems to be maturing nicely. He had a sweet dunk, made some key outside shots, added 7 assists, and played smart.
Hamilton looks like a player. Sure glad he's just a junior.
It was interesting to watch Coach Kampe rotate nine players in and out.
I was a bit worried when Kito picked up his 4th foul with 8 minutes to play, but the small combo that played from the 8 minute mark to the 5 minute mark opened the lead from 11 to 20 points.

Not the most impressive win, but a win nonetheless. I really like the improvement from Valentine - and yes, Hamilton will be an all league player if he keeps up this pace.
