Big game on Thurs. A win would keep this team well in the drivers seat and would really make the week long break between games that much sweeter. The Eagles will be fired up for this one and now have even more motivation after losing to the Dons last night. The team MUST rebound and DEFEND. They let Morrison and co get to the rim with ease like Centenary did on several occasions it may be a very long night.

I want to call this a must-win even though it probably isn't in the big picture, but it sure would make me feel a bit more steady about this team playing conference road games against good teams. Yes, they're 3-0 in conference play but that is against the three last place teams from last season. ORU is a test no matter how they are doing because of the history between the two teams. I would like nothing more as a fan than to revel in a second straight victory at the Mabee Center! Here is a preview, back to the normal length: grizzliesgameplan.blogspot.com/2010/12/game-preview-oakland-at-oral-roberts.html

I think this is one of maybe two games I could see OU losing inside the conference schedule and not be shocked. Traveling from Shreveport to Tulsa in 2 days and playing in a hostile environment (losing at home to IPFW??!!), this is going to be tough to beat a pissed off ORU team.
I do think OU is the best team in the conference and I think they can beat any team in the league under any circumstance so I still think they should win this. However, I do know our history and I know ORU always has 1 or 2 guys who seem to shoot about 99% when they play us.
OU needs to continue to move the ball inside the paint and make high percentage baskets. They always NEED to defend the 3 point shot! If the defense is good and we shoot about 50-60%, we should be alright.
This is going to be one of the best summit games of the year! Can't wait!

Tulsa World: 'ORU faces tough task against Oakland' www.tulsaworld.com/sportsextra/ORU/article.aspx?subjectid=95&articleid=20101230_95_B3_OralRo980137Of note: Injuries haven't helped. Michael Craion has been missing most of the season with a broken foot. He was the Summit League's newcomer of the year last season.
Sutton said a recent X-ray indicated that Craion's injury hasn't improved much since being reaggravated three weeks ago. Sutton said he was 90-percent certain the 6-foot-5 junior will be redshirted, although Craion could see action Thursday. That is strange to read, but maybe he is still under the allotted time allowed for a medical redshirt.

I love the coach's corner feature. Also funny to watch the people through the window behind Kampe (many of them OU players). Good to see that everyone seems loose, since you know they all realize how huge this ORU game is.

Agreed that the statement on Craion being available for tonight's game doesn't seem to make much sense. I guess maybe because the team lacks toughness and leadership (according to many on the ORU board) they might try with Craion what we tried with Nelson in the MSU game a couple of years ago. Put him out there in a big game and see if he can give the team a boost. If he can't, shut him down for the year.

It might be like when we red-shirted Nelson. If i remember Kampe tried to play him against MSU but he wasnt right, and they ended red-shirting him.
OOPS, after posting that, I see Germane said the same thing. haha
