SDSU has been pretty impressive so far. We've played well and are not able to put them away completely. Glad to be up 84-68 at this point.

Good win, 97-88. The Jacks had some guys really step up (like Fiegen), but the good guys managed to get it done. On to Fargo.

A win is a win and I will take a win on the road any day. It seems to me over the past couple of contests with some good performances here and there, that the defense is not Oakland like. We are giving up way too many points, example tonight and Valpo. If you score 102, you should win. We scored 97 to win the game. They scored 88, but if we actually played some D, we could have won 97-60. We gave them nothing but wide open looks for the majority of the game. It bothers me due to the fact that we can't do that game after game. If we have a bad offensive night, then we are vulnerable to getting beat and beat bad. On the bright side of things, Valentine and Bader were impressive as they have been for the majority of the season. Reggie had some big plays and shots during the game. Kito was good, but needs to learn how to guard the perimeter when his guy goes out there. Our other guys need to step up and block the lanes so no easy basket. Will was solid as always and found ways to get easy lay-ups. Bass did a great job in his time guarding Wolters. Wolters looked like he couldn't go anywhere. I really think Dykstra is going to be a force in the Summit League. He really showed his versatility tonight and remember he is only a freshman. Larry was Larry tonight. He had a few good plays, but committed silly turnovers and poor shot selection. Ilija had a good board and put back. Eackles didn't play. It was good that we didn't need to use him and give him some more time to heal that ankle. On to Fargo to see the record :-)

It was hard to tell on the video feed and I didn't really pay much attention. He did travel with the team though, so I would assume he dressed if he traveled. They wouldn't travel him otherwise I don't think.

Thirty-two victories in the last 33 conference games ... that was a dangerous team OU beat tonight ... SDSU had legit victories over Iowa and Nevada ... beating them at home in convincing fashion ... yowzers.
Go Grizzlies. No letdowns in Fargo.
P.S. -- Neal Ruhl called a nice game, eh? He's terrific. Did I mention he's an OU journalism grad?

Normally I would get a a bit peeved about giving up 88 points win or lose but the Jacks are such a explosive offensive team (especially at Frost) that just getting a win there anyway you can get it is ok by me. And keep in mind we have won 3 out of 4 in Brookings since they joined the league. No other team in the Summit can boast that. Win on sat and we will have swept the Dakota trip 3 of the past 4 years. That would be nothing short of incredible.

Kito was good, but needs to learn how to guard the perimeter when his guy goes out there. As much as it sucks to see Dykstra wide open for threes, that is by design. Kampe insists on Benson staying in the paint, so we can't really be mad at Kito when that happens. Ledrick was indeed dressed.

That was just my little rant of the night. I'm sure most of you have noticed that most Summit teams are using their big man to try and pull Kito out. When he does, they utilize the paint. When he doesn't, they shoot the wide open shot. I just feel like that could end up being an achilles heel in the long run.
