The SD media usually has videos of the press conferences after the game with both coaches, but in the meantime here is some audio of Kampe's post game comments: dl.dropbox.com/u/16498733/AfterSDSU2.wav

Stats are finally up ... OU shoots 55 percent in SDSU's arena ... 46 percent from three-point range ... 43-30 advantage on rebounds .. imagine those fans trudging out of Frost Arena into the frigid Dakota cold, saying, "Who are those guys?"
Remember all those years we couldn't seem to beat Valpo in a conference game? Summit League teams must be feeling the same way tonight after seeing this score.
No letdowns in Fargo. Go Grizz.

I know 88 points seems like a lot, and it is, but you have to remember that when you play up tempo like we have been the other team gets gets a lot more possessions.

Benson is the best shot blocker in college basketball. Kampe is right not to let teams lure Benson outside of the paint. Duh!

Benson is the best shot blocker in college basketball. Kampe is right not to let teams lure Benson outside of the paint. Duh! No need to get defensive. He is just stating his opinion as he has a right to do so. I do agree with the notion that he is best suited to stay in the paint.

It is just hard to watch teams take wide open shot after wide open shot b/c Benson is in the paint. You don't see other teams doing that with their big men and letting Kito shoot. They expect their other 4 guys on the court to defend and protect the paint. Next year when Kito is gone, we will have to do just that. I understand that why not utilize his advantages why we have him, but almost any college player will make wide open shots if you give them the opportunity. This is one area that scouts are criticizing Benson along with getting to the hoop after he faces up to the basket with the ball.

I hear both sides of the argument, and I agree w/ what Kampe is doing, keep Benson close to the bucket as possible. So some random opponent will have a good game bc he's hitting wide opens shots? We're winning, that's really all that matters. I didn't see this game, but great to see Kito had a dominant game, and the balance in scoring w/ 5 in double figures. Also Valentine's double double, & Hamilton's near double double...Good stuff!

here is my opinion....32 out of 33. Must be working. I guess centers shooting open 3's don't beat you

SDSU did score 88 points, BUT it took them 77 field goal attempts and 10 Free throws to do it.
As for Benson, I agree with Kampe, keep Benson in the Paint. That is what Centers do. Other Summit league teams HAVE to do this, plus most of them do not have bigs that can go after Benson, so instead they have to spread guys out, and hopefully they can hit the 3. Plus, if you have Benson going out guarding the 3 point line, there is no one guarding the basket and teams will have easy layups all day on us. It's pretty much pick your poison, and I'd rather have teams shoot the 3 instead of getting easy layups.
