Nice find Germane! I'd been trying to figure out who he was talking about. I'm still a little confused about the scholarship situation and you sort of mentioned it at the beginning of this. Is LLP already on scholarship, or is one of those open scholarships going to him? Because I see us as having 5 scholarships open with Ledrick leaving and Maynard already gone. 2 of those are already committed, leaving us now with 3 open spots. Could we not, potentially, sign PLP, Anderson, AND Miller?

Unless I'm counting wrong, it looks like we have 11 scholarships taken next year, which would leave 2 open (unless someone else leaves):
Hamilton (Sr) Bader (So) Valentine (Jr) Cushingberry (Jr) LLP (Sr) Ilija (Sr) Bass (So) Petros (RS Fr) Sikora (RS Fr) Poches (Fr) Williams (Fr)
But I also remember Kampe saying at some point that there is a little flexibility here. One of the recent redshirts (Sikora?) was told at the outset that there would be 1 year where he was not on full scholarship. Or something to that effect.

You're probably right, but this is one aspect I'm just not sure I totally understand. At the beginning of this season, there were 16 people on the roster, including LLP, putting them at 14 on scholarship. Unless as a transfer he was not on scholarship. Plus, I'm assuming Sikora is on full scholarship but as you mentioned there may be some flexibility there. But none the less, with 3 graduating and 2 scholarship players having left, is that not 5 total open scholarships? Or am I over simplifying or missing something? If 5 open scholarships would be correct, that'd leave Poches and Williams taking 2, and now 3 more available. Unless LLP or Sikora wasn't on a scholarship this past season.

13 scholarships is all the NCAA allows, so we couldn't have had 14 on scholarship at the beginning of the season. I think the Gameplan had a post about scholarship slots after Maynard left, and that may help clear up the numbers.

Good stuff, Germane. Miller would definitely fill a hole. Here is an updated scholarship chart. Mind you, this is just an outsider projection. None of this is actually confirmed with the school. Someone must not have been on scholarship to start the season because with Maynard in the fold it was 14. But from what Germane referenced, Kampe did indeed layout a very detailed method by which they could actually add another player beyond the 13 allowed scholarships. So three signees is still an option for 11-12.

This guy looks like a great pickup as well. I think either he or Doug Anderson could find an immediate position on our roster. Is it possible that LLP wasn't on scholarship last year? That seems to make sense to me as a possibility. I really hope we get one of these guys!!

From multiple sources, Tennessee is pursuing Dwight Miller.

Considering previous sources had said Missouri State was in the mix, I guess it's not a surprise to read that Tennessee is now recruiting Miller (Mo St.'s coach is now the coach at Tenn). blogs.knoxnews.com/askgriff/2011/04/vols-add-a-pair-of-bigs-to-rec.htmlThey also list Cleveland State as a potential suitor. EDIT: Nate, we must be on the same wavelength. Great timing of our posts!
