Neely from this season: After getting caught up on his senior season thus far, it sounds like he is straight up terrorizing the PSL this season. It seems like every recap I read had him going for 20 points and 20 rebounds. In an Oakland season that has had its disappointments, I find myself eagerly awaiting this young man's arrival next season.

Lloyd Neely, who was recently named Mr. PSL, is named by Tom Markowski as one of three likely challengers to Matt Costello and Denzel Valentine for Mr. Basketball: www.detroitnews.com/article/20120220/OPINION03/202200358On another note, MSU sure does have a stellar recruiting class coming in. I will root for Denzel Valentine if he plays anything like his brother. Also found this article from a recent Crockett game with some nice details about Neely's game: Amerson was with Allen every step of the way until suddenly he hit something resembling the Great Wall of China and crumbled to the ground.
"He ran into a brick wall," said Crockett's Lloyd Neely.
He ran into Neely, who set the pick of all picks.
[...]
The 6-foot-5, 235-pound power player scored 31 points and grabbed 14 rebounds, showing again he is one of the most improved players in the state.
"Actually, I've improved a lot," he said. "I really wasn't in tip-top shape last year. I was just bigger than most guys last year -- that's why I didn't do much besides scoring and rebounding. This year I came in, in shape."
Late in the first half, Neely took an outlet pass, juked past one defender, spun away from another, then avoided a third before laying the ball in the basket.
The fact that a teammate interfered with the ball, negating the basket, meant little. The important part of the play is how Neely was able to go coast-to-coast.
"I've been doing that since I was little," he said. "I was a chubby kid. I've gotten better since I've been with Coach Juan. He's been working with me since the eighth grade, and I really appreciate that." www.freep.com/article/20120211/HSS/202110434/Mick-McCabe-Crockett-s-Neely-s-double-double-picks-apart-Henry-Ford

Although they r just high school players, he looks good, he looks like a bully out there ;D Hopefully he can have that same mentality @ OU.
