Congrats, Zak!
Last night was pretty amazing! A lot of students that will hopefully show up to the games every night.
The VIP program has exceeded expectations for it being the first year. Like what was said last night, the grizz gang is planning a big tailgate event on November 10th vs IPFW, the first non-exhibition home game. It is being planned with OUSC, so we are combining ideas and money to make it big. There will hopefully be more tailgate events planned as well once the HL season starts.
A few extra things are trying to be put into the works as well for the grizz gang, so stay tuned 👀

Does anyone have a link to the hype video shown at Midnight Madness?

Midnight Madness was definitely a success if you ask me. I would estimate around 1,500 people showed up which is more than I thought we would have. Lots of free stuff and some fun. Hopefully we will be able to consistently fill the student section this year, which would be huge. If we could just get a third of the students that were there tonight to show up regularly that would be awesome. Also, they were giving away men's and women's basketball away trip tickets, where the winner gets tickets to an away game, but also gets to travel with the team on the bus and meet everyone. I won the women's trip, which was kind of disappointing because it would have been awesome to go to the men's. Anyways, oh well. Tonight was pretty cool; definitely something I hope they do again in the future. I agree that the turnout was great. However, I think Midnight Madness was a joke. It is awesome to acknowledge all of the other athletic programs. When you are a Mid-Major Division 1 school and you play knockout/lightning, I think that is laughable. Most big programs would play a "Black vs Gold game" or have dunk contest/3pt contest. We played lightning. The players started improvising and having a mini-dunk off, but they cut it off quick. We are supposed to be very talented and that would have been another way to get the fans excited. Oh well, I'm ready for the regular season. Note: Brad was on crutches. Not sure what is going on, but hopefully nothing serious.

I completely agree about the whole lightning thing. I thought it was pretty lame and not thought out very well at all. When they announced Midnight Madness I definitely thought it was going to consist of a dunk contest or a inner-squad scrimmage and was pretty let down by what they actually did.

The turnout for the Grizz Gang opening tailgate was great. We probably had 75 people lined up waiting to get the free swag 15 minutes before it started. Line started to form an hour before tailgate started. Cornhole, fowling, beer pong, inflatable obstacle course, pizza, coolyo, free long sleeve t-shirts, free OU football jerseys, DJ, and rally towels were all a part of the event. Probably had around 300+ students come all together. This event was co-sponsored by OUSC so they deserve credit as well.
Thank you to students who came out and everyone for the support!
*Spoiler for those on grizztalk: Our next tailgate will be November 30th vs Texas Southern. This will be a relatively small tailgate compared to today but will include a free swag giveaway and food for students. Advertising on social media will start soon.

I don't know who allowed tailgates to become BYOB, but I would like to sincerely thank them. Grizz Gang had a winterfest "buzz" to them tonight.
Kind of fun to remember how Sh*tty the Grizz Gang was my freshman year (last year of summit) to what it's like now. Has improved leaps and bounds every year.

I would also like to thank whoever allowed the BYOB for my "buzz" last night, lol. Damn that was fun.
