Kampe shows respect for UDM's players, calling Hogan the best offensive post player in the league and saying Corey Allen may well be freshman of the year (and he has said on numerous occasions how much he likes Jenkins and McFolley):

So despite the bitterness between the programs, you can't accuse Kampe of being dismissive or unfair.

Expectations are dangerous things in sports. When our team is favored to win by 18, and you know our guys want to put on a show for a full house and national TV, I get very very nervous.

My anxiety is somewhat relieved by what I'm reading and seeing in the media. Our coach and our guys are talking respectfully and carefully about the Titans. It should be a lot of fun to be a Grizzlies fan tonight. Any victory over Detroit Mercy is a great victory from my view.

Actually, for those who don't click through, you might like this, too:

Around here it's popular to snark at Kampe (guilty as charged--see opening video) but you know what? He's what we claim we want from Bacari. He's got a system, and a long term plan. His players buy into it. His teams do little things well, like running set plays on in-bounds and making their foul shots. OU teams always pass well and their players move without the ball. Kampe recruits far and wide to find guys who can help his team, and he gets the vast majority through school. So what if many of them are getting a second chance? Athletics is about second chances, and if Kampe didn't give it to them, someone else would. Most keep their noses clean. He promotes his program relentlessly; and in his 4th year in the conference, Kampe has Oakland sitting atop the Horizon.

So jealous! Will be my first time not sitting in the student section for the metroseries.

Oudrummer mentioned it on twitter, but how cool would it be to fill up both sides with students. . If raising the prices for chairbacks is needed to offset the lost revenue I would have no problem with that.
