Agreed. He came off of a redshirt that probably would have helped him develop into a solid backup PG.

Well the foray into recruiting Texas sure didn’t pan out with all those Texas guys gone now. Our HS recruit retention rate for scholarships offered/accepted is basically 0 over the last four years (remember Lampman and Townsend were recruited as walk-ons). Hopefully that is considered when considering who to make offers to in this portal era. Feel bad for the high schoolers but that is where we are at. Why look for anyone other than juco or transfer at this point?
None of this is frustration at OU, but just at the situation. Used to look forward to long term development of players. Will Hudson, Dante Williams, Nick Daniels, Brad Brechting. I thought a guy like Will Shepard could have been next in that kind of lineage. All important players to OU history. Teams just aren’t built that way anymore.

Sherman and Dang never got off the bench. I wish them both well, because from the outside looking in, I have no idea if they can play or not.
Parker and Shepherd both looked like they'd develop into at least servicable starters by the time they were upperclassmen. It's always sad when we lose players like that. Still, you can't fault players for leaving when they barely get off the bench. Part of the frustrations over the short rotations Kampe likes, I suppose.

Good kids and I wish them them the best in future endeavors. However, NONE of them are D1 players. The question becomes why they were recruited in the first place. How much money was spent in terms scholarship, housing, etc. Turnover and uncertainty in any organization is bad. Thus, the results of the past 5+ years are of no surprise.

I’m not so sure, I don’t think anyone who left would be starting on a team that’s not sub .500. It’ll be interesting to see if Parker transfers down, he looked lost on offense and defense to me when he was in the game. I hope we can hit the portal and get some guys now that can contribute, we sure need it.

Apparently, we had a player named Dominic Capriotti this year? I don't remember him either, but he allegedly transferred out yesterday. *shrug*
