Sectione4 brought up in another thread that the team will benefit from having Poches play this year. I thought that was worth bringing up again and agreeing with. I was only watching through OUGrizzlies.com, but from what I could see in the tiny pixels was a player who came out with a lot of energy, especially on the defensive end. I love that Dante Williams embraced his role as a role player/glue guy, and it looks like Poches is willing to do the same. They will "get theirs" in time, but you gotta feel great about the future of the program with two freshmen like that. I hope they were like that already, but maybe Drew Valentine has rubbed off on them a bit as well. There are few players in the nation I enjoy rooting for more than Valentine.

Great job by the staff in sticking with Valentine through the ACL injury and keeping the scholarship offer open when other schools pulled theirs. Huge payoff.

Valentine is all heart. Reminds me a lot of Will Hudson in demeanor.

Okay, pure speculation, and maybe just coincidence: Bass and Cush "collide," Bass injured, and then Cush off the team for "academics?" Something smells fishy. Just sayin'. I had the same thought....

I tweeted that to P. Kampe but didn't get a response. If it is a coincidence, it certainly is a funny one. I just don't see a lot of concussion-level collisions in basketball.

I didnt realize how good of a passer Valentine was until the Michigan game. he seems to have great court vision.

Ha! Too true. But a collision doesn't get someone booted off the team. And we're in the middle of a semester (well, end now). How do you get kicked off for academics prior to finals? Grades won't be out for another 2 weeks.

Grades won't be out for another 2 weeks. OU's finals and fall semester ended on December 9th. So grades would've been known.

Ah, got it. Thanks. Well, maybe Blake skipped finals. Forget basketball, but how do you throw away a free education?
