Just now finding time to collect my thoughts on this game. Like many of you, I made the trip out to Ann Arbor only to come home very disappointed. l feel like OU lost the game more than Michigan won it, and thats kind of a bold statement when we lose by almost 20. The reason I feel this way is because of how horribly we pesonally played. Sure UM did a good job swarming Kito, but we also took some horrible shots and played terrible on offense.
Defensively, I thought we weren't that bad. Most of their 3's were contested and we did have several consecutive defensive stops (in which we didn't cut the lead at all because we didn't score after the stop).
I felt like we got sucked into playing UM's game, shooting too many 3 point shots and taking too much time to shoot during each possession. We had multiple instances where we wasted about 30 seconds on the shot clock only to shoot a bad shot at the end of the shot clock.
I also really hope that Larry gets his act together because I felt like he played bad. Not only was he a bad shooter, but he seemed out of it.
What sucks the most is we have to live another year being the "3rd best team in Michigan". Boo

May I add? We beat Tennessee because Benson scored 20 points in the first half. We got the big man going. Larry Wright stepped up and we sealed the deal. We are not going to beat one of the big boys (as in OSU or in the NCAA tournament) with Hamilton missing 29 points to get 23, however, complimentary you are of his effort. You can take that to the bank. There is an efficiency quotient.
The only reason I am drilling this point, is that when you start agreeing with each other on the value of guards shooting the ball, ball hogging and not scoring, the team might start believing it too.
