Educate me: what does it mean if he doesn't keep his card? He will have to go to "Q-School" and get a card. Q-school is qualifying school, pretty much they have to play tournament, and a small % gets a card for the following season that scores low enough. Having a card pretty much means you're a full time member of the PGA for that season. If you dont have a card, you have to be invited to tourney's, etc. You just cant participate in a PGA tour event, you have to be invited. Thats not the case if you have a card. I hope that makes sense. Well said Leo - This year - Brian can pretty much play in every tournament except for the Majors, which he has yet to qualify for any this year. Those majors being the Masters, US Open, The Open Championship (aka British Open), The PGA Championship, and any World Golf Championship Tournament. While Brian has played in more than 20 tournaments this year - the man who came in 126th place has only been invited to 13 tournaments, as he is pretty much on the alternate list for many of them. Brian will attempt to qualify for the US Open Next Monday, most likely in the Springfield OH qualifier. Brian was the top finisher the last 2 years at Springfield which got him into the last 2 US Opens. Brian did not make the cut at either US Open he played in. 2 or 3 Top 15 finishes should get Brian enough earnings to qualify him for the PGA Championship later this year.

Great start in the first round for Brian...His putting was not great in the beginning, but his ball striking and proximity to the hole were great today. 2 bogeys cost him -- be he still finished at -4 for the round, 1 off the lead currently and in the hunt! www.pgatour.com/leaderboard.html

Brian finished in a tie for 14th at the US Open Qualifier yesterday - 4 shots back - not good enough.
FedEx Cup Rank - 127 FedEx Cup Points - 286 2015 Earnings - $496k
Brian is playing The St Jude Classic this weekend. He'll have the weekend of the 18th off most likely due to the fact he did not qualify for the US Open and has not received an invite.

I really hope I dont jinx this -- but Brian looks really good this weekend. Brian had lots of airtime on Golf Channel Friday afternoon -- and we should see a lot more of him today on CBS, as he is currently in a Tie for 2nd heading into the third round - 2 shots behind Bubba Watson.

I am a JINX...I should probably delete this thread. Nah, this is a entertaining thread to keep tabs on Mr. OU PGAer Brian Stuard. Brian is just going to have to get it together somehow.

Time for an update...
Brian had a pretty good John Deere Classic going until the final round. On the first hole of that final round, Brian stuck a shot within 5' of the hole and missed an early chance for birdie - he also missed an 8 footer a couple holes later. Had the putter been working for Brian that final day, he would have had a much better showing than the tie for 18th.
The good news -- Brian is back in the TOP 125 in FedEx Cup points, checking in at 123rd with 377 points/ The magic number to make the playoff will likely be somewhere in the range of 450-500 points. A top 5 finish this weekend at the Barbasol Championship will help out tremendously, even though it is a reduced point tournament due to the lack of highly ranked professionals playing in it - they'll all be at the Open Championship at St Andrews.
Brian now has over $600K in the bank this year - but will need to score another big paycheck or 2 if he wants to be invited to the PGA Championship in August.
