Time for an update... Brian had a pretty good John Deere Classic going until the final round. On the first hole of that final round, Brian stuck a shot within 5' of the hole and missed an early chance for birdie - he also missed an 8 footer a couple holes later. Had the putter been working for Brian that final day, he would have had a much better showing than the tie for 18th. The good news -- Brian is back in the TOP 125 in FedEx Cup points, checking in at 123rd with 377 points/ The magic number to make the playoff will likely be somewhere in the range of 450-500 points. A top 5 finish this weekend at the Barbasol Championship will help out tremendously, even though it is a reduced point tournament due to the lack of highly ranked professionals playing in it - they'll all be at the Open Championship at St Andrews. Brian now has over $600K in the bank this year - but will need to score another big paycheck or 2 if he wants to be invited to the PGA Championship in August. Wishing Brian the best. Rory is out for the Open this weekend. I'm sure he'll be back for the PGA Championship next month.

OK - Crunch Time for Stuard.
Top 125 retain their tour card for next year and make the FedEx Cup playoffs - and Brian sits at 126, a fraction of a point behind #125.
Brian is playing in the Barracuda Championship - which is considered an "EXTRA EVENT" - meaning less points are up for grabs (the World Golf Championship" is this week, and more points are available there).
Brian needs to get in the Top 25 - that could secure him a spot in the Top 125 for the year and full exemption for next year.
Brian needs a great showing this week to qualify for the PGA Championship next week - based on his current stats, he needs a very high finish to get there.
That's your Brian Stuard update

Still waiting on the FedEx Cup point list to be updated - It looks like Brian has certainly moved up from 126 to around 118 on the list after his T22 at the Barracuda Championship. Since Brian is not in The PGA Championship, he will certainly be on the bubble for the Playoffs in 2 weeks at the Wyndham Championship.

Just glad to hear that he is going to be in the Top 125.

So - with 2 tournaments left to play - Brian is officially at 118 - fractions of a point ahead of #119 and #120 - 21 points ahead of #125.
Hopefully Brian doesn't slip too much this week, since he isn't playing. A made cut at the Wyndham in 2 weeks should solidify his Pro Status for next year.

The final round of the Wyndham is today -- and Brian Stuard did not make the cut on Friday. If the tournament ended now, Brian finishes in 127th place on the FedEx Cup list, and would lose his full time status on the tour for next year.
Brian needs a couple of guys to screw up today - I hate to say it that way - but its true. There are different ways he can jump back in the Top 125, but it doesnt look good. Will update once everything finalizes.

Brian missed out -- will have to try and earn his fully exempt tour card back. I am sure he may try Q-School later this year.

Yeah...that was a pretty popular story. I want Brian to succeed - but this year he looked and played like a head case. It seemed like after every shot he was talking to himself and pissed off at himself. He missed keeping his tour card by just a couple of FedEx Cup points - which maybe equates to just 1 or 2 strokes in any one of the tournaments he made the cut in. When Brian has one bad hole - he has a hard time bouncing back. Just my observation. Brian is struggling to get his card back - he is through 2 of 4 events in the Web.COM 4 tournament playoff, and currently ranks in the 70s - the Top 25 Money earners through those 4 events will regain their PGA status for next year. Lets hope Brian gets a TOP 5 finish in one of the last 2 tournaments - its what he needs to do to get back to full time on tour next year.
