WMU's hockey arena holds 3,667 and occasionally sells out (I couldn't easily find attendance figures). BGSU's arena holds 5,000 and attendance is in the 2000s.
Those capacities are relatively small by big-time college hockey programs. However, I can't imagine college hockey at OU drawing more interest than OU basketball. Hopefully I'm wrong though.

I understand what everyone is saying mainly im thinking from a cost its much cheaper to use a building thats there i was thinking blocking out upper deck and plus im pretty sure for hockey its less seating but ik that my idea wont happen cause we have no A.D. and Auburn hills will move quick to rase it. If we get hockey the new arena would solve the pratice problem since the O can be the basketball pratice faculty cause im sure the new arena will be both

I came across Baxter Arena at Nebraska Omaha. It looks like a beautiful facility that is home to their hoops & hockey teams. It seats nearly 8,000 which I think is a great size. Not too big, but big enough for years of growth. Or, if we built a similar facility to seat 6000 - 7000 I think that would be perfect. If we could get something like this that would be amazing. I know it would cost a ton, but hopefully private donations and a corporate sponsor could cover much of the costs. omavs.com/facilities/?id=3
