Well, the beginning and middle of the month were certainly interesting from a transfer out perspective, but Coach Kampe and staff have been busy plugging holes as we near the end of the month. Oakland has had one new high school commit (Emmanuel Newsome) and two new junior college commits (Kevin Kangu and Nate Brooks) in the last week according to each player's own social media accounts. Combined with the guys we know have already committed, Oakland will feature at least six newcomers in 2019-20. Here's a look at the scholarship chart as it stands right now, based on what's been featured on social media (there's been no official press release announcing the spring signing class), and assuming none of the newcomers are slated as preferred walk-ons: This assumes that none of the four players who are in the transfer portal are coming back, though there is technically one scholarship still available (you know, if JC has a change of heart or something). Also note that on-again-off-again Oakland commit Daniel Oladapo (juco) was most recently reported by Dirty South Juco as going back to juco for his sophomore season. This team looks a bit different than we would have thought even three weeks ago, but it didn't take long for the staff to get some reinforcements. We'll see if any of them can combine to replace an All-League shooting guard in JC and a future All-Leaguer in Braden Norris. I'm ready to get 100% behind the newcomers (all aboard the CJ Gettelfinger train!) and the returning players and put this turnover saga behind us.

I am assuming Zach Goodline is a walk-on. If that's the case, we have 12 scholarship players. Coach always likes to save a spot in case a quality transfer becomes available.

The roster has been updated for the '19-'20 season. goldengrizzlies.com/roster.aspx?path=mbballAs expected, Nate Brooks is nowhere to be found. Seven(!) freshmen counting walk-on guards Zach Goodline and Blake Lampman. This is going to be an interesting season indeed. With Rashad Williams having to sit his redshirt year and thus joining the sophomore class next year, we might have a big crowd on Senior Night in 2023.
